The situation for sex workers in Germany<\/h2>\nSin\u00adce mid-March, all pro\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon faci\u00adli\u00adties, brot\u00adhels and simi\u00adlar estab\u00adlish\u00adments in Ger\u00adma\u00adny have been clo\u00adsed. Accor\u00adding to the Ger\u00adman govern\u00adment, all ser\u00advices clo\u00adse to the body that are not medi\u00adcal\u00adly neces\u00adsa\u00adry are curr\u00adent\u00adly pro\u00adhi\u00adbi\u00adted. In addi\u00adti\u00adon, many fede\u00adral sta\u00adtes and cities have expli\u00adcit\u00adly ban\u00adned all forms of pro\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon. In our work we can\u00adnot keep a distance from our guests. The\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre the risk of infec\u00adtion is very high for us.\n\n<strong>We under\u00adstand that any kind of sex work with cus\u00adto\u00admer cont\u00adact is pro\u00adhi\u00adbi\u00adted until fur\u00adther noti\u00adce.&nbsp;&nbsp;The BesD e.V. recom\u00admends sex workers in Ger\u00adma\u00adny to tem\u00adpo\u00adr\u00ada\u00adri\u00adly stop any acti\u00advi\u00adties that bring them into phy\u00adsi\u00adcal cont\u00adact with cli\u00adents. <\/strong>\n<ul>\n \t<li>In the case of a vio\u00adla\u00adti\u00adon of the cur\u00adrent ban on pro\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon, sex workers are threa\u00adten\u00aded with dis\u00adpro\u00adpor\u00adtio\u00adna\u00adte\u00adly high fines \u2014 the BesD stron\u00adgly oppo\u00adses this. On the other hand, it is essen\u00adti\u00adal to avo\u00adid over\u00adloa\u00adding the health sys\u00adtem as long as pos\u00adsi\u00adble. The situa\u00adti\u00adon is serious.\n\nThe time gai\u00adned will be used to deve\u00adlop pro\u00adtec\u00adti\u00adve mea\u00adsu\u00adres for par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly vul\u00adnerable groups, increase tre\u00adat\u00adment capa\u00adci\u00adties and deve\u00adlop anti\u00advi\u00adral drugs and vac\u00adci\u00adnes.\n<ul>\n \t<li>We don\u2019t want to get sick our\u00adsel\u00adves.<\/li>\n \t<li>We do not want our cus\u00adto\u00admers to get sick.<\/li>\n \t<li>Tog\u00ade\u00adther we want to pro\u00adtect peo\u00adp\u00adle for whom an infec\u00adtion can be par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly dan\u00adge\u00adrous. They can\u00adnot return to their home count\u00adries at the moment as the\u00adre are ent\u00adry stops and in most cases the\u00adre is no money for an unplan\u00adned trip any\u00adway.\n\nWe also have a high per\u00adcen\u00adta\u00adge of peo\u00adp\u00adle in sex work, who have just enough money&nbsp; to pay for food and rent. The\u00adre is a per\u00adcen\u00adta\u00adge of sur\u00advi\u00adval sex\u00adwork.&nbsp; Com\u00adbi\u00adning lack of a per\u00adso\u00adnal finan\u00adcial emer\u00adgen\u00adcy fund and the lack of entit\u00adle\u00adment to sta\u00adte bene\u00adfits means, that even now, as the cri\u00adsis is coming to a head, some peo\u00adp\u00adle still have to enga\u00adge in sex work and look for cus\u00adto\u00admers on the street or on the inter\u00adnet. The poo\u00adrest of the poor are in exis\u00adten\u00adti\u00adal dif\u00adfi\u00adcul\u00adties due to the cur\u00adrent cri\u00adsis. They need imme\u00addia\u00adte finan\u00adcial help to secu\u00adre housing and food.
